Help Grangefield Community Orchard

Grangefield Community Orchard is an initiative of Transition Cleeve, approved by Tewkesbury Borough Council (TBC), aiming to restore and maintain a number of fruit trees on the TBC Grangefield site next to Grangefield School in Bishops Cleeve as a community orchard, and arrange frequent fun and educational activities that involve the community. These activities will include apple juicing (this year at Court Farm on October 14th), picnics, festivals etc.
In order to help fund these activities we have applied, and been accepted, for the customer vote for a Bags of Help grant from Tesco. It’s a scheme which gives community projects like us grants of up to £4,000 – all raised from the sale of carrier bags in Tesco stores. We hope to put any grants we may be awarded towards orchard maintenance and apple juicing equipment.
Members of the public can vote in store during September and October on who should receive the awards. As a result, all who shop in the Bishops Cleeve and Tewkesbury Stores will be given a token to put into a box at the stores to select their favourite initiative. We do encourage you to vote for our local project when you visit either of these Tesco stores.  Please encourage your friends to do the same!
